I am a full spectrum doula and childbirth educator located in Detroit, MI. Before my career in birth work, I was a classroom teacher and university professor. After becoming a mom to my two children, I was forever changed and committed my professional work to supporting families as they welcome new life into the world. 

I have always believed education is power. Evidence-based knowledge is an important tool birthing families can use to prepare for and create the birth and postpartum experiences they desire and deserve. I aim to nurture families throughout the perinatal process so they may grow in confidence as they grow their families. 

Along with my training from DONA International (Birth and Postpartum Doula) and Lamaze International (Childbirth Educator), I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum from Michigan State University and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Wayne State University. My years of experience as a community organizer and caregiver inspire my passion to advocate for birth, maternal/parental, and reproductive justice for all birthing people and their families. 

When I’m not nerding out about birth work and caring for families, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy cooking recipes from around the world, traveling near and far, going on long walks, trying out different coffee shops, getting lost in record stores, reading a good book in the bath, being on Belle Isle, and live music.
